I made a full backup of my phone a while back, is there a way to read the remember notes in the backup without restoring the whole thing to a phone? (I don't have the phone anymore)

Nope. Not unless you exported them to Evernote as well.
Thanks for the reply!

I had trouble about this aswell because I must not lose my extensive Remember tasks by any means necessary.
After some research I found that using the app "Fire Chest Backup" was the easiest solution. It's a really great app and allows you to backup/restore all your Remember data with a few taps! I can wholly recommend it.

I read somewhere (although here in the Crackberry site) that you have to backup and restore "with options" but I didn't do it this way. I used an App (not free)
Workhorse: BlackBerry|Q10, SQN100-3, OS 10.2.1.2941; Power Workhorse: BlackBerry|Passport, SQW100-1, OS 10.3.0.675; Germany.
Yup, this works...been using it for a year...and thru 35 new leaks...
Crackberry Genius on Verizon Z10/10.3.1.1949
Ultimate Backup app that can be found on BlackBerry World can also backup Remember.
I haven't tried to backup it yet but based on the screenshot below it can do it.

Ultimate Backup and Fire Chest Backup will work fine. I use both for the added peace of mind
lol...I just did the same thing. Went with Ultimate for the restore and it worked well. Lost some formatting on some notes but not a big deal.
