    Hey guys,

This topic bothers me for a few days now:

Is there a way to handle 7 zip files on BB10?

Just the basics, zip and unzip would be enough for me...

Do I need an android app for that matter?

    Cheers,

    Tim

When you long press on a zipped file to bring out the overflow menu, isn't there an unzip option present in the list?
The same if you wish to zip a file, long press file and select Zip.

Yeah but only with/ for normal zip files, like winzip for example. Not 7 Zip...

I don't have experience with 7zip files on BB10, but you're saying the file isn't recognized as a zipped file?
If not, you could try renaming it to a .zip file see if that works...

I just cannot unzip it, as BB10 does not support 7zip files.

My first idea was that renaming the file would corrupt it - and of course it did.

Question is: which android app runs on BB10 and is compatible with 7zip files. I did not find an app in BBW that supports them.

There is a lot of them on play store and probably also on Fdroid. I downloaded and installed one called zarchive from play store. It works smoothly and seem competent. I haven't tried it out. However it's a tip for you .

Also RAR by rarlab is an android app earlier on BBW (payed app). You can find it on play store. It unzips 7zip files among others, but can't make 7-zip archives.
