I have spent about $15 so far. That will definitely climb. It's easy to drop a buck or $2 on an app. It's a small price to pay to support devs.

I'm at about $50, and I would pay more for quality apps. I would pay for a fully functional Facebook, podcasts, and media player app.

Perhaps you should consider reading your own link before making incorrect comments, an app has to make a minimum of $1000 and under $10,000 for Rim to pay the difference, so it will obviously not apply to low interest paid apps or to any of the free apps and realistically any apps that are selling 100s of copies are probably going to end up pushing on towards the 1000s of sales that would take them past the $10k mark too.
I was thinking about it. technically one can create a really crappy app, price it at $1000, buy it himself, and Rim will have to pay him 9k.

rinse and repeat and you get a windfall??!

No they can't because the apps that qualify for the 10K are reviewed by Blackberry and they cannot be crappy. In fact they have to have something that distinguishes then from other apps and also make full use of some core BlackBerry functionalities like BBM, BlackBerry Maps, etc. They also cannot be single function apps meaning they need to do more than one basic thing.

About $30. Also, the "we'll pay you $10,000" is not that straightforward. Otherwise, everyone and anyone can submit whatever garbage they want (as they do) to the BB World and have it approved. I would not be surprised if this applied only to the "Built for BlackBerry" apps.

Approximately $20. I have been going bananas with games. Such a great device for games! Never going back to a physical QWERTY.

As an aside, fiance is running out today to buy the white Z10 at Rogers. Price is down to $99 on a 3 contract.

Spent around 30 euro so far, but have no problems to spend more on any good native app. And I still don't have Z10, using landed Dev Alpha B Just hope all apps will be re-downloaded once I get my Z10. And for those who proudly declare that they've spent 0$ on apps, because they don't buy apps in general. Why do you then complain in other threads for lack of apps? Do you think that apps are written by robots who don't need to eat, pay bills, have no families? I always propose to people who think that apps should be free go to their bosses and tell them that next month they work for free, no need to pay them salary. Somehow none of them think that it's a good idea

The incentive is for devs who make apps using their guidelines not just any random useless app. I had a quick browse in Bb world and I didn't see any useful apps let alone any using cascades. I really hope those big apps arrive soon because my excitement deflated a little after not seeing any exciting apps... Maybe I didn't look closely?
Built for Blackberry section (when it arrives) is a good place to start looking for good apps

Probably around $10.00 so far. It's just been a couple of weeks though, and I've been deliberately holding myself back till some apps have more reviews.

0$ for now. Only free apps.

I'll probably buy rdm desktop soon (9.99$) and a LED notification app, but I don't know if I'll try the one available now or wait for bebuzz or advance os. I don't like the reviews for the 2 that are on BlackBerry world atm.

So if the minimum is $1,000... Blackberry will need to reimburse $9,000 and if there are 70,000 apps.... A sum of $630mil :S
and if the app only sells $999 worth, it does not qualify so many of the 70k apps will not be in the hunt for 10k

Though, one of those apps (Unofficial 500px) has resulted in me spending another $30 on high-res pics for my wallpaper!

I've probably spent upwards of $75. Most of it is games though. Where's my Water/Perry?, Dynastunts, robotek, anomaly warzone, shark dash, sleep sounds pro, saving yellow/chasing yellow, babel rising 3d, enborn x, eufloria, riptide gp, sprinkle, gbwg, kunana island, super hexagon, open sea, quell... i dont think all of those cost money but the point is i've spent and i want to support the developers.

The games are there, so no need to worry.

I'd like more practical, pragmatic apps though. Something focused on productivity, or allows me to do things easier/faster, etc. Whatsapp is a good one, so is skype so i'm looking forward to those.

I believe the real problem with apps in the past for BB has been not enough free apps. I don't know what the BB10 app world looks like, but for <OS7 there were very few free apps, at least, very few that were worth a darn. If you look at any other OS's app ecosystem, there are tons of quality free apps. And if you are going to charge at least $0.99 for an app, at least provide a trial or ad version so consumers can see if it's worth it first.

BTW: speaking of apps, Viigo was an app I would have spent $4.99 for...... if only it were still around today. That app got more mileage out of me than BBM.
