I haven't used mine yet (Q10) but only because I usually use my Playbook for that instead.

Curious, if I play a movie on my Q will it show with a correct aspect ratio on my TV even though it's 16:9 and my Q is 1:1?

I think it would if you use the play on feature.

Hotel rooms. That is about it. But I do like the feature and would find it annoying if a wired video port were dropped in the future.

If you use the button on the top of the phone for on/off, you can turn the display off the phone while playing the video.

Use it all the time for reasons above.
But the best is when traveling for work. Hook it up to the TV and log in on the Citrix app. Use my blue tooth keyboard, mouse and ear piece.
    No more laptop.

Yes, recently bought a micro HDMI cable for my Z10, so I can watch on demand programming on my TV. However, as I noted elsewhere, with the cable plugged in, the interface on my Z10 becomes unresponsive.

    Thanks, wondered about that.

It's a great feature, something that definitely deserves more attention. Than and the SD card slot that some other big name devices don't have.

A couple of times, but only because I have a 1987 relic of a television. Old reliable, so don't have the heart to toss her out before she dies.

It's a nice feature of the BB10 phones, although I note it's missing on the Passport leaked photos.

    Posted via CB10
On the Passport there is only one multi purpose port. Which means you'll have to get a different hdmi out cable for it. But it's there oh yeah!

I have 2x Z10 official docking stations, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. I just pop the Z10 in there and watch YouTube or Netflix or show friends vids or pics taken from my phone.

I have, a few times. The HDMI out is simply not good enough for watching movies, however. My Q10 slightly distorts the image by stretching it wider than what is natural, and this is enough for me to not want to have anything to do with it (being a filmmaker, these things bother me a lot).

It's nice for music, though, especially in hotel rooms.

I'm not sure I quite get the issue you're having. I watch movies on the Q10 using the hdmi and the image is in it's native resolution on the TV. No stretching. Make sure you're using the "PlayOn" option.

Yes, for an impromptu Powerpoint - v impressive seeing such a small device generate a great picture.

Bit disappointed I can't get Miracast to work though; Panasonic Viera GT50 connected to a hub, which has a wireless AP. Probably just don't have the right combination of settings.
