    Hi guys,

Is there a way to lock the screen while watching videos in BB OS10? I need it because my 16 months old son keeps touching the screen while we are watching videos together. With my galaxy note 4, I can press the power button once and it will lock the screen for the duration of the video play. I am looking for similar feature.

Local videos so far. Online videos I am not sure.

Anyway that is galaxy note 4, I am looking for a solution for BlackBerry 10 if there is any? Or perhaps an app can do this?

Thanks Shainki, I actually would prefer a native app for this or is there any trick with the built-in media player that comes with BlackBerry, but I guess there is none. Hopefully there will be one in the future, meanwhile have to stick with solution from android world.

Swipe down from the top with two fingers and enable rotation lock. If you're watching on a TV just tap the power button to disable device display.

Supertube is a native app in blackberry world, you should check it out. You can watch youtube and your own video with a screen lock =)

I am using Q10 and cannot see the option for rotation lock. I am not sure either whether rotation lock is what I am looking for. I think Supertube and MXPlayer will do the trick for now, until BlackBerry implement this into their own media player app.

Yeah, sorry I misread your post, I thought rotation lock was what you wanted, but you want to lock the screen right? I just checked out supertube myself and it does some great things. I'm going to make that my goto app for vids. Oh a two finger swipe from the top in any app should give you the quick settings menu.

If you really want to go native, there is always the Screen Reader BETA feature which will block the capacitive screen. Start your video and just click quickly 3 times on the power button. Same thing to deactivate it.

It's not an app. It's an accessibility feature in BB10. Just click 3 times on the power button. You can see the settings in Settings > Accessibility > Screen Reader BETA.

I tried screen reader. I am on leak OS and it seems buggy, very laggy, so as it is still BETA. But it is promising though.

Agreed. Just don't be afraid if your screen is not responsive to touch. Remember this accessibility feature and deactivate it
