    Hi all,

I have Whatsapp installed on my Z10. I need to be able to stop
group notifications and keep my regular contact notifications.
I know there is an option to mute the group for a week, a day, or for 8
hours. But I don't want to have to mute the group every week again and
again. I would like to be able to permanently mute a group in Whatsapp.
Something that I was able to do on my old Blackberry Bold, and I know can
be done for Iphone and Android. I think it's an important feature.

    Please advise,

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer for you on this one. The problem is that BlackBerry 10 only allows for *one* notification profile per app, which gets used for all notifications that app generates. Legacy BlackBerry OS, meanwhile, allows apps to register as many notification profiles as they want. This is why we have separate "WhatsApp Message" and "WhatsApp Group Message" settings on that platform.

Until BlackBerry 10 fixes this limitation, there is no good way of letting you have different settings for the different kinds of notifications WhatsApp on BlackBerry 10 can generate.

Apps developed by BlackBerry do not have the same limitations placed upon them as apps not developed by BlackBerry. This is often forgotten, but its an important point to keep in mind. Many first party apps also have special hooks in other areas of the OS (e.g. search, instant actions, etc) that have no API accessible to others.

You can permanently mute Whatsapp group notifications by deleting Whatsapp.

What are the chances of blackberry fixing this issue?
I tried to contact them through twitter, they told me to contact the app developer...

I just have the Z10 and am so disliking these kind of things!!!!!
Previous BB I could set different ringtone for group and individual chats.
now it's all the same .

also hate that I can't create more custom ringtone/notification profiles.
