I thought that Blackberry Link would let you install custom ringtones but it doesn't. So can someone tell me how to install and assign custom ringtones to contact? I'm not sure why this is such a painful and unintuitive process, I mean BB 10 comes with a cool file manager but it doesn't display the ringtone folder that the contact apps sees.

Also does the Q10 support m4r ringtone files?

• Changed the files to m4a extension and they worked
• As for ringtones I dropped them in the music folder under a sub folder I created called ringtones and used the "Browse Music" which actually lets you browse the user accessible area of the phone. Although I have no idea if I'm doing this correctly but it works.

you can copy the ringtone you want into your music folder on your SD card and just navigate there when you set a custom tone. Or copy to your device memory and navigate there. Ringtones are kept on the device memory for the pre-installed ones.

This has been suggested in other posts so I can't take credit for it, but to keep ringtones from showing up in the Music list, I created a folder in the Voice folder of my SD card and put all of my ringtones there.
