Hey everyone.

Can someone explain to me how to use BBM voice and/or video when NOT using WiFi? I have 3 Rogers BB10 phones in the family (2 Q10s, 1 Z10). When I'm chatting with someone in BBM, the top right icon is grey and not green.

Also, I've triple checked to make sure "Allow BBM calls over the mobile network" is set to "on" on all the phones.

Am I missing something??

Well you do have it set correctly to "allow calls over the network". However, it could be that the contact on the other end hasn't enabled the same or is not in wifi coverage area (by default)

Might have to do with your carrier's network speed. Are you getting a 3G or 4G LTE signal? (or H/H+)

Yeah I forgot to mention that as well! Sometimes it wont work if your not on 3G/HSPA or higher. On EDGE, it didn't work for me, until I got back on H+/4GLTE.

Hmmm.... I think it might be the signal. I'll test it out and report back.

You need to be on 3G or above. BBM video doesn't works on 2G.

I understand for BBM video you need at least 3G or 3G+, but what about BBM Voice?

Is there a quick way to BBM voice someone from within BBM or the chat screen? It seems like only the video option is there, and if the contact is not available for video, I can't bbm voice them either.

Yeah, i'd say the same for voice is required... didn't initiate a BB voice call on EDGE... once back on 3G/H+ it worked as usual. Regarding the latter, i can't say for sure. I normally just tap the icon.
