If I want to end a text message chat (because it takes a few seconds to open every time I text a person on my Z10 because of the long history), how can I save all the pictures in the chat (other than scrolling back through and saving each one individually?).

That's what I was afraid of... Thanks.

Is there an app that can extract the pictures?

Actually, SMS Backup will save the entire thread, and the pictures that are in that thread will get saved as well. It usually saves them in a separate folder under the folder with the messages grouped as an xml file.

How long does it take to open the thread? I have a thread that goes back over a year and a half, has well over 1400 individual messages, a bunch of images, and still instantly opens on my Z10.

It takes 1-2 seconds. The screen flickers a bit as the messages load and scroll up.

Okay. I do get that on occasion. But not every time. And it doesn't really bother me.

I the case of my very long thread, it's the text message thread with my wife that goes back to when I first got this phone. I just can't make myself clear it out. The occasional half-second to one second delay when going into it just isn't enough for me to want to do anything about it.
