I noticed that the video file sizes even on 720p, are huge. A 4 second file was 5 mb.

Anyone has any thoughts on how to lower the file size for quick vid transfers via IM apps? Don't mind a lower res vid. Thanks.

You just said it, lower the resolution! Also you can compress, but video itself has its own compression so that won't help too much. The single best thing you can do is lower the recording resolution. Experiment until you get the right mix of looking good and file size.

Thanks. Afraid the lowest res is 720p on the Z30.

Could always try this mobile encoder this dev made, apparently it works good.

Check out Video Shrinker in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...tent/42838891?

Connect to pc.. copy video to pc..search on web.. there will be hundreds of sites for editing video. Then again copy video to your mobile after editing.

I use a great app called Advanced Camera on my Z10 and Playbook too. Both were a dollar. You can take smaller video sizes...

I ended up downloading VideoPro from BBworld. You can choose to record in about a dozen sizes which you can then quickly save and send in a much more manageable file size.
Wish this were available on the default BlackBerry Z30 but nevertheless problem solved. Thank you all.
