Hope someone can help me out.

Pressing the shift button on my passport acts as shift everywhere but text messages, which is rather annoying when I want to write a formal text message starting with the recipients name on the first line.

How do I go about doing this, I'd rather it if this key acted as shift here too, instead of having 2 send buttons (on screen and physical shift button).

At least it acts as shift in emails.

What are you asking? You don't have to hold shift down to capitalize. Just tap the key and press whatever letter you want. Either that or long press a letter.

    Thanks for the reply.

I know how capitalise, works well by holding a particular letter.

Asking if I can use the shift button (bottom right button) to add a paragraph in text messages, as it does when emailing and the posting crackberry app...

    Just like that.

Instead of it functioning as a send button. Is there a setting to not have it as a send button and have it as insert paragraph?

    Thanks

Go to the hub- settings-text messages and there is this option.

Or hold shift then press send to make it an enter key not a send key
