Hello all,
Does anyone know how to add a pause to a contact's number so i can include an extension to their number. Thanks in advance
when you are adding the phone number, there is a button on keypad for 'pause'
I believe adding a comma (,) after a number results in a 2 second delay-
ex. 8005551212,123
would dial the number then pause 2 seconds then dial the extension 123. You can add multiple commas for additional delay.
I use ! and it works perfectly for me. Add them as needed.
10,000th word that came to mind on CB...
This is for BB10, right? When I'm adding / modifying a phone number I don't have the choice to add a comma (or exclamation point as another poster said) - I just have some basic symbols and the full alphabet... I agree that I've used comma in OS7 for pause... am I missing something?
On my Z10, there are Wait and Pause buttons when i'm editing contact phone numbers. Pause inserts a 'p' in the number.

On the BB7 and before it sync'd well with outlook and the ! worked fine. Updating to the Q10, it doesn't recognize the ! anymore - I did this update using BB Link to transfer from the Torch to the Q10 but the Q10 doesn't recognize the ! it transferred. A bit annoying. I had to use Link to sync one-way from Outlook to the Q10 to write over the contacts, and this time it added the commas properly.
But oh man, the 2-way sync conflict resolution is not practical. The old one for 7.0 at least let you choose which contact to resolve, this one seems to be only all from computer or all from phone, no in-between. Why can't they just sync the MOST RECENTLY UPDATED version? e.g. if I see Mary at a party and she gives me her new number, and then Mark calls me and I enter his new address in the computer - one of the 2 will be destroyed on the next sync. I read they just added the 2 way sync so that's good. And better than iPhone, man that won't sync with Outlook well either. I guess everyone hates MS. But still is it just me or is it a no-brainer to simply sync the contact that was most recently changed?
I just got an HTC one at the same time as the Q10, and the HTC one does a 'most recently updated' option.
Put an 'x' after the phone # and then the extension #. ie. 16045551234x987

When adding a phone number to the contacts list in BB10 I want to add an extension but i see a "pause" button and a "wait" buttom. Which one is used to add an extension? What is the other one used for?
I believe the "wait" feature waits till you hit the call button, and when you do, it continues with the rest of the key sequence.
And the "pause" simply pauses the execution of the rest of the key sequence for the login etc.
