    The device monitor pie chart indicates that I have 1.83gb for system, 20mb for user files, 666mb for apps and 10.69 gb of free space... Where's the rest of the storage that makes up the 16 gigs?!

    you lose it due to formatting. Its just like any hard drive out there. you never get the full space

    As humans we say ever 1000MB is a GB. Computers see 1024MB as a GB. So a few things go there. Most companies just say it's used for system purposes but yeah. Just the way the world works..
