So after a month or so, emails past that date no longer show in the hub.
Is there anyway to view these from the hub? Or to extend the time to hold these emails?

Absolutely, assuming you're on OS 10.2.1.xxx or later.
For an ActiveSync account (such as Hotmail or Outlook.com), you can adjust the sync period for an active account. From the home page, swipe down from the top and go to Settings > Accounts and choose the email account. On the "Edit Account" page, tap "Advanced" on the bottom bar. Scroll to the very bottom and Select the "Sync Timeframe you want (i.e., "Forever" to sync all messages).
For an IMAP account (such as Gmail), you have to select the sync period option when setting up the account -- so you'd have to delete and re-add it. Use the standard email setup, until you get to the screen that gives you the option to toggle on/off contact/calendar sync. Tap "Advanced" at the bottom. Scroll to the very bottom, and set the "Initial Retrieval amount" to "Forever" (or your preferred sync period). You can also set your sync interval here as well.
Note that if you'll be syncing a lot of messages, you should be on WiFi, unless you have a very generous data plan.
Hope this helps.
Wait, really? If I delete my gmail account from my phone and re-add it, i can get all my messages? How did I miss this with the 10.2.1 update? Does the same apply to my google calendar? Thanks

As long as they are still on tour Gmail account online line yes. Select forever.

Errr, you do not have to delete and re-add your Gmail (IMAP) account! The "sync timeframe" setting can be changed in the Account settings menu at any time, even after the account is created.
And make sure to also change the list of folders you want to sync (same menu), so all your archived items also show up.

"Sync Timeframe" applies specifically to ActiveSync accounts. Do you have a Gmail/IMAP account? If so, please take a look. You can change the "Sync Interval" at any time. But that controls how often the read/unread staus, etc. sync with the server. It doesn't affect how much email is synced to the device. It is necessary to delete and re-add the account.
The "sync timeframe" setting isn't present when I edit my existing Gmail account in Settings (no "Advanced" appears on the bottom bar). If I create a new Gmail account I can access this.
As long as your Gmail account is set up for IMAP access (which is the default), then Yes. I've added, deleted, re-added Gmail accounts many times while working with leaked OS's. The Google calendar and contacts as well.
You can confirm it's set up for IMAP access by going into the settings of your Gmail account. Settings > Forwarding and IMAP. Scroll down to "IMAP ACCESS" and confirm "Enable IMAP is checked. Like this.

Worked for email but my calendar only goes back 90 days. Is there any way to get "forever" for my google calendar set up? Thanks for any help
Unfortunately not. That's is a limitation of how BB10 syncs with CalDAV.

And I see someone has already requested that the sync time frame for CalDAV on BB10 be revised.

Gmail IMAP email settings (10.3 screenshot, but I am 100% sure it was the same on 10.2.1 already. Maybe even earlier):

Gmail calendar settings (the "sync pas events" toggle is new in 10.3, maximum is 1 year):

Note these, as well as Contact settings, are available to change whenever I want, not just when I set up the account.

No, these additional settings are not available in 10.2.1. Here's a screen cap from 10.2.1.3175.

Definitely not available on 10.2.1 after initial setup. Now I am itchin' for some 10.3. Hope Verizon won't take forever to release it.
Use remote search.

On 10.2.1.xxxx, remote search is only good for ActiveSync accounts. IMAP accounts are getting remote search in OS 10.3.
Okay, that is too bad. I must have been confused with the initial set up process. Good to see that this is also one of the things improved in 10.3.

My wife is on 10.2.1.3175. This thread looks like the right place to ask. I deleted and re added her Gmail account (mail and calendar) and now some events don't show on her Q10 when they did before I deleted the account. They are mainly recurring events but some single events too. Is this something to do with the 90 day limit do you think? I'm in big trouble with Mrs Pilchard and would be grateful for any help!

I added my entire Gmail history back to 2009 with tens of thousands of messages and i'm seriously impressed at how quick the hub works with searching and scrolling. Not the slightest bit of lag in sight.

one word : THANKS
One more thing added to this thread: on 10.3.1, the option to adjust timeframe appears on every type of email account so you will not need to delete the account and re-add to adjust it anymore.
