I have a BB Z10 on T-Mobile. I want to know if there is a way to change the 4GLTE icon to just say LTE I seen pictures where it shows just LTE and it also shows the carrier next to it. Mine shows 4GLTE and the signal strength only. Can someone help please? Thank you.

I don't think this can be changed, as it's a carrier pushed setting. US carriers do 4G LTE because they refer to HSPA+ as 4G. Incidentally, TMO has been one of the biggest abusers of this mischaracterization.

It is carrier controlled...you can't change it unless you change carriers...then it will change accordingly.

I'm in London and I have 4G everywhere. Before May 2nd when it was switched on by Vodafone in the South East I always got H+. There was a small period last summer when I struggled to get H+ because I was using an unstable 10.2 leak. Those were the days.

ATT just shows LTE so it must just be a TMo thing

AT&T is one that will show just LTE, and just 4G when it's really on H+.

It's probably screen shots of AT&T phones you're seeing.

I doubt it's fully carrier dependent since on Android you can change the icon if you're rooted

Android ain't BlackBerry. Different companies involved and different allowances made for carriers by those companies.

Can't root a BlackBerry either, so... can't make that generalization. BlackBerry most definitely let's the carriers determine how their network is displayed, if they want special considerations. Not all of them care, but some absolutely do.

It's an OS thing.. I've been loading leaks since the beginning. Some leaks makes the symbol 4G some makes it 4GLTE.

Well this is based on my experience in loading leaks, - don't know if other factors are behind it.

Buy an BlackBerry Passport or wait until 10.3 released officially. There are leaks, but if you wanna use them, go to the BB10 Leaks section and READ ALL STICKIES before trying to install leaks

I have noticed that after running a security wipe on my phone (before running an autoloader for a new OS), that once it's done and rebooted itself, the network will show "4GLTE", instead of just "LTE" that it normally shows for AT&T.

However, I don't know how long it lasts because I usually start up the autoloader right after.

I suppose the security wipe also removes any carrier specific settings - including any custom carrier-based network indicators - during the wipe. But, that stuff probably comes back after some time on the network. Next time I run the wipe, I'll have to remember to wait a while to see if it does change back. I will also check to see if I can change the network type to 3G before AT&T locks that setting out to just LTE, too.
