I know there's a thread for people having trouble with this feature not working, but my question is different. Has anyone fiddled with this enough to determine what parameters the phone uses to decide that it needs to "stay awake?"

As in, is it the phone's pitch, whether it detects motion, some combination? I'd like to know.

I'm on PassportSQW100-1/10.3.2.2339 for what it's worth, and the feature appears to be working for me, from what I can tell...

Well there is a variety of readings the device gets, my guess is it uses the orientation sensor, likely reading the face up parameter and another one to determine it

It checks almost all sensors. If it's 'vertical' it will stay awake, if it detects movement across any axis as well (so if you're driving and you left the screen on while your phone is on the passenger seat it won't turn off).

It works though. It's actually very useful and whenever my battery saving mode comes on I usually get annoyed because it turns this off.

In all probability they are not working correctly

It also helps if you read the original post completely. He stated it was working for him.

Does it use the flip case magnets as well? I find mine tends to stay on longer than the 10 seconds I have it set to and I'm thinking it might have to do with having the flip case folded around the back of the phone.
