Hide home screen
I've been using BB10 since it first came out, I have a Z10, Q10 and Passport. In all that time, I've not found any use for the BB10 home screen and or the active frames. Blackberry tried to improve the home screen by allowing your to move your active frames and to allow open frames to stay in the same position through reboot. This did not fix the problem as if you close an app, then you have to edit and move it again, so pretty useless in my view.
For Homescreen info, I want it to always be in the same place and to not be dependent on an app being open. I get that now with Homescreen plus. The other possible use for the home screen is to switch apps, well the same problem that the app has to be open and in the same place for this to be a useful feature. With the keyboard short cuts I use that for switching apps.
The last use for the Homescreen is the Active frames. This could've been a good feature but Blackberry themselves have wrecked this for me. The app that is most often open is BBM, and my god, I keep getting notices that a contact who connected to me years ago is now connected to me, how is that useful. If they just put the most recent incoming message it could be useful
I don't really have a problem with the homescreen, I just would like to not have to keep leaving the homescreen because the OS takes your there all the time. It is the screen I am forced to see the most often and it is the least useful screen that I have.
Blackberry please give us the option to hide the homescreen or move it to the far right of the carousel of screens so that we only see it when we go to it. I am just tired of having to always swipe away from the homescreen since it is useless to me. To those of you who love the homescreen and/or active frames, I am not attacking you, I am quite happy with Blackberry keeping the homescreen. I would just like to have the option to not have to see it a thousand times a day.

A little forum searching will show you over a 100 threads on this.
Go to settings > Display > and toggle off "Show Wallpaper when all apps are closed"
You did not have to write an essay!

OP, the title is incomplete. You want to hide the homescreen even if an app is running (or place it at the end of your icons screen).
Well, that's pretty specific. As stated just above, it's simple enough to get rid of a blank homescreen.
Now, each app has its use of the active frame. Some are very good, others are pretty useless... I agree. So the best answer is probably to contact the dev of the app you love and send him your idea of an useful active frame ;)

Actually, the active frames I find are quite useful.
Not for all apps, but for certain apps.
For instance, I keep the calendar always open since I check it multiple times a day. And it can be very useful to see the upcoming events information.
