Mine did freeze up once after installing one of the leaks, don't remember which - and the hard reset of Volume UP and DOWN did not do anything. But holding the Power Button down for 10-15 seconds did reset it.

Hold the power button for 15 seconds. It will reset the phone.

In the specific case talked about here (used to work until update to 10.2.0) holding it for 150 seconds doesn't even work. Lets be clear here - people that know how to do it are saying its stopped working.

My z10 takes forever just to start normally...almost as if it's resetting every time I press power button. This is only since 10.2

I can't believe someone hasn't picked up on it, but the up/down volume button hold reset does NOT work on the -001. The hardware was not made for that for only that model. It only works for the other Zs.

Holding down the top on/off/lock button is the only way to do a hard reset on the -001.

Ok as I said before the hard reset issue only happened when I upgraded to 10.2.0.424 (Rogers official OTA). The .429 update that came out yesterday fixed the hard reset issue I was having on my STL100-3

So to be clear the issue was real and its happening to people with 100-03 devices.

Funny - the top/bottom buttons do work for a hard reset, but you also get a screenshot along the way!

Helpful to snap the date/time (swipe down) to log your reboots ;-)

This had been said before: The only way to reset an STL100-1 is by pressing the top button.

Here is the fix for your device resetting on reboot. It's in the first post of this thread

    http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=977265

As for your OS, you can update yourself. Research the beta/ leaked OS forums. Many OSes are officially out. There are many tutorials on how to install the latest.
