Download it from Snap. Sideload the bar for snap from Welcome - Red Light Of Love, Ltd.
    Welcome to CrackBerry!

You will need Sachesi and snap downloaded on a PC then after that it pretty easy and straightforward. Google maps are the best.

Or make it real easy and just find the apk online, download it, and then install it...

Not really(Google the best) , I have used it on my company issued IPhone 5S, had problems in South Texas and New England area when traveling for business.

Works pretty well out of the browser, too.

Always good to know and learn from others. Thanks for pointing that out. Guess I feel prey to public misconceptions.

I've got gmaps v9.6 running pretty well on my Q10. It's even working with starred locations - Cobalt's android ID and the google account app take care of the maps login. It still nags about no play services, but only through a notification which can be disabled in the google app's permissions.

After setting up Cobalt's google app's I just downloaded the latest gmaps from the Snap store and voila. Snap was the only app I had to sideload in this instance. You don't even need sachesi for this, you can sideload snap from the chrome plugin.

It's an older version but works fine. I went back to this version as all the updates since this one wanted me to log into my Google account.

BeMaps is good, but it's not Google Maps. For example, the turn by turn nav launches BlackBerry Maps.

    Merboy,

I just wanted to say thanks so much for your link to the GMaps APK file. My job relies on a GPS and blackberry maps, while great for most locations, will not find any new areas of development in cities. I was going to get a new phone until I found your post

Go to androidpolice.com for a lot of APKs

I'll make it easier for you http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-...904010112-apk/ download .apk straight on your BB from this link and install it right away.

You don't need Snap if sideloading sounds too complicated to you.

BlackBerry Maps Is great for driving in US and Canada especially when you want to avoid traffic. I trust BlackBerry Maps more than any other GPS apps for navigation.

My understanding is the BeMaps uses Google maps for the search functionality, then connects over to BlackBerry maps for the actual turn by turn.

I travel extensively via automobile and BlackBerry maps work great for me ... love how it's tightly integrated with programs such a Foursquare for finding places to eat.

    I agree with YeeMan,

Plus I've used BlackBerry Maps in Spain, Turkey and The Netherlands. Just like at home, it gives excellent, accurate and timely turn-by-turn voice guidance.

I also find that Google Maps works pretty well in the standard browser as well, although to be honest, I really like BlackBerry Maps and tend to use that as my default 'go to' map resource.

The stock map program has gotten very good.

In times that it fails. Just use Navfree which integrates with Google.

A good alternative source to BlackBerry Maps. Sometimes I keep both running.

Does BE maps provide VOICE prompted turn-by-turn directions? How about public transit directions?

What map source (navteq, teleatlas etc) does BE MAPS use?
