I think the OP said "you won't be able to sign in, Google uses some kind of android account system on its devices instead of just asking for username and password."
Only works on wifi for me as well... I've also had issues with other apps working smoothly that other users seem to have working just fine. Vine, for instance is always shutting down on me.

The version of skype found here http://69.162.109.42/Apk2Bar/bar/com...3.50469393.bar works better than the one in BBWorld, it actually worked superbly on my Q10 just tried it now! The BBWolrd one has never worked properly on my Q10!
While I'm sure someone will appreciate that information, this thread is about Google Maps. And yes, I'm going to make the same comment about your other post too.
I have 7 installed too on my Q10. Works great, can't sign in either though. Wondering if anyone has tried 6.14 on 10.2 and whether the settings menu still crashes the phone. I'll give it a try later tonight perhaps.
Just confirmed that 6.14.3 still crashes when going to settings (but the look is updated to 4.2.2, awesome!). Going back to 7.0.2.700022113.
Anyone know how accurate the Google Map thing is? It has my current location spot on but if type in the address it says that the address is across the street and three houses down.
The stock phone map is dead on with both. One up for BB10
I had a weird issue with a couple of my news apps only working on wifi, the problem seemed to fix itself on both after a few days. Working fine on cellular and wifi now. It wouldn't hurt to try switching airplane mode off and on. I'm on 10.2.0.1047 as well and that's what fixed my rfa problem as well lol

I fixed my wifi-only problem.
Seemed my 1047 android runtime lost network access (all android ports and sideloads). The only way to fix it was to install the 810 runtime, reboot, then reinstall 1047 runtime and reboot.

Strange but true.

Just duplicated with the new Evernote I just side loaded. Told me I wasn't connected to the Internet. I had wifi on but not connected. Turned off wifi, toggled airplane mode and it works perfect. Seems like it needs a reboot of the network after every time I'm connected to wifi

GPS usually is within 20 m
In some regions, it seems that BBMaps is most accurate. The only upside of Gmaps is that it has public transit, more locations, etc

Ma bad! Just excited about the great enhancements 10.2.0.1047 brings! Thanks again for the effort guys, and yes Google Maps works well on the Q10 as well! Cheers!
Given that the vast majority of BB10 owners will NEVER sideload an Android app, there's pretty much no need to do this.
Nonetheless, they can still complain about what's not available on BB10. It's good for users to know what options are out there, and this particular app is pretty cool.
