Note:
-you need to know how to sideload
-you won't be able to sign in, Google uses some kind of android account system on its devices instead of just asking for username and password.
-beautiful and buttery smooth != no bugs
Looks like I'll need to tear into the new GMaps app and possibly put in a few of the countermeasures I had to keep the v6 build working smoothly. Any areas of the application that cause a force quit when you access them?

I've actually been running this for a while now, and I've been very happy with the fluidity. I used the debug token method though, and I just assumed everyone was using this version. I haven't run into any force close situations yet either, and when I was using it for navigation I had no issues with losing GPS...I just disagreed with the route it suggested as being the most direct.
Does anyone have an apk or bar file?
I'm having trouble pulling the apk out of google play (the chrome extension won't work)
I can't find the file one Koz's site, everywhere has 6.xxx whatever.
The bar file above won't convert on the apk2bar site - says the version is too long.
*Edit - use chrome, and it will show up on koz's site.

OP provided a link to the bar (which does not need converting).

I don't like Google maps because they keep having people try and drive up my driveway to get to the other side of town.
Don't care if it is the most direct route, it's MY driveway. Not a public way.
Rant over.... proceed at will...

Try reporting to google that its a private driveway Google Map Maker and change the road type to private road - you'll have to sign in/sign up to make the change.
Dose anyone else get an -104 error when sideloading or am I alone?
Info: 10.2.0.1047 with 10.2.0.810 runtime, and the "special" version of google maps 6, sideloading with Chrome
