If you're patient and have instructions, then your phone should be just fine.

I say go for the latest 10.2.0.1761.

Phones aren't like girls. They don't go loose after you play around and load stuff on them!

That being said once you go 10.2 you can never go back

I recently installed 10.2 on my phone after reading many stories both good and bad and don't regret a thing! I thoroughly enjoy the new OS version. Thanks to the guides I upgraded with no issues.

Seeing as my carrier will most likely be releasing 10.2 in 2014, I just went ahead and installed a leaked version of 10.2. I'm very happy with the leak. It wasn't hard to understand took about 20 minutes to back up my phone, 5 minutes to install the leak and about 15-20 minutes to restore my files.

Latest version of Link takes good, quick backups. Personally, I just restored app data and media after I loaded 10.2.0.1761, then after that was done I restored Settings. Pretty much everything came back great.

Do a full back up first using Link. That essentially removes most all risk.

    Yikes. Pretty much?

    Just kidding.

Never had a problem. The only issue is the time spent setting things up again.

A question about upgrading to the leak, RESTORING and the potential to revert to older OS? Can you restore or do I recall that restoration will not work if you downgrade the OS? This is a just in case question! I'm one week into the Z10 so I'm just checking before taking any leaps. Thanks in advance

I personally have never had an issue moving up and then restoring. I have read that other had problems when moving from 10.1 to 10.2 and then restoring.

Not aware of problems moving down but that does not mean there isn't.

Honestly, I may be lucky, but I have never had an issue with my Z10 since I bought in the spring. Not one reboot.

When I upgraded, I followed the directions from Berry Leaks and my Link is always the latest version available.

Backup, Autoloader, Wipe and then Restore. And always on a full charge.

Presently running 10.2.0.1725 on model STL100-3.

Word of possible advise. If going for one of the "bleeding edge" os's on here for some alternate back ups.for example sms back up for your texts, contact x for contacts (or like I and many others a good cloud service like Gmail for contacts) and run that route instead if restore. Sometimes things just work better with a "fresh" install. What device are you on? Peek through the respective threads for the different os's also. You will see trends of what really works well if you read through. Yes reading it all can and will be a pain, but the info you can obtain will be HUGE help.
Most who are in the leak threads also are more than willing to help with poss questions.
The newer os's tend to be a bit smoother and newer options and or tweaks too... but some of the "older" ones may be a bit more stable since they have been around a bit longer and people have learned to tweak then also

That said, welcome, check it out and good luck. The waters great, come on in.
