My Z30 still shows all the promotional emails from Gmail account in the inbox whereas Gmail in desktop shows them in the promotions tab.
Is there a way not to show them on my bb?

go into your settings -- labels and uncheck the label from showing in IMAP so you wont see it on your phone.
Where is the labels setting in bb10? I only see folder settings for Gmail and it only shows folders in Gmail not the labels??
On the desktop, the promotions category is not in the labels.
So no option to turn off imap

I think it's in your Gmail account settings not in the bb10 settings.

The promotions tab is a category in Gmail. There is no option to turn off imap for this. Imap is available only for folders.
