Also for anyone who may find this thread, you cannot click on either URL and have it actually load a site as the URL points to an API, which is a software interface Google uses to facilitate the syncing process (as opposed to a normal website).
However, those who get the URL in truncated form in the CB post, clicking on it does put the entire URL into a browser address bar so it can be more easily copied. FWIW.

    That works well.
But for some odd reason on a BlackBerry Q10 can't get the contacts to sync, there's only 4 email contacts connected to the Gmail right now as its a new gmail, trying to set it up for my bro, but the berry doesn't want to sync, here's the error I'm getting.(pic attached)
Worked like a pro for my BB classic, but the Q10 making me problems.
The two factor is off, the less secure is on. Not sure if it makes a difference if the calendar and Gmail is connected already or not and if the Gmail is open on another device? I know on the blackberry we came out it should be closed.
Any ideas or thoughts that might be the cause?

This exactly is what I am passing through please I need a step by step to get my Gmail contacts synchronized

    Hey Myi,

It shouldn't matter if the calendar and Gmail e-mail are connected already no. Are you signed in to Google on the Blackberry itself? Even through a Google service such as YouTube?

    Hello David,

    Have you tried this process?

    1. Go to Accounts.

    2. Select Add Account.

    3. Select Advanced at the bottom of the screen.

    4. Tap CardDav.

    5. Enter whatever you like for a description, and your Gmail e-mail address for username and e-mail address.

    6. Enter your Gmail password for the password.

For the Server Address, enter the following:

    http://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v1...lists/default/

(Replace [email protected] with your actual Gmail address of course.)

You'll also want to make sure "less secure app access" is turned on in your Google account security settings and that you are signed out of Google on the Blackberry browser.

Let us know if you have trouble; we'll get you set.

Nope, just starting it up,First time using the device, setting up the Blackberry Q10 so nothing was connected, doing everything for the first time.

thanks for this thread and help

for me (BB z10 10.3.3.2031) worked after some trys this manual (translated from german to english via google translate).

    1. Log out of Google anywhere on the BB
    2. In Google Security Settings https://myaccount.google.com/security turn
"Less secure app access" on and in "Third-party apps with account access" remove everything from BB.
    3. In BB under Settings / Accounts go to "Add Account" and "Email, Calendar and Contacts".
Use Google credentials. IMPORTANT: Choose only EMAIL and CALENDARS, do not choose Contacts !
    4. In BB under Settings / Accounts on "Add account" and below on "Advanced". Then select CardDav (not CalDav). Type in any description. Enter "Gmail addresses" under "Username" and "E-mail address", under "Server address" enter "https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v1/principals/[email protected]/lists/default/".

Another thing that held me up was using "http" in th url for the carddav server. Changing it to "https" fixed it immediately.

I'm struggling with this Gmail Contacts CardDav process today for some reason.

I suspected that my contacts weren't syncing so I deleted the Gmail account from the phone. I added it again but the server https://www.googleapis.com/.well-known/carddav in the box will not allow a CardDav account to be added.

I keep getting "An unexpected error occurred. Some features may not be working correctly".

Is any one else still able to sync Gmail Contacts with their BB10 phone?

The server address has changed and has been posted ad nauseum in this thread, but I don't really blame you for not wanting to go through it all so here it is.

    https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v...lists/default/

Just remember to replace the "[email protected]" with your own Gmail address.

Now that explains why my classic wasn't pairing correctly, I had to manually sync all them with my Android device via Bluetooth.
They got to make a blackberry app just for this.

I hear you Myi. Feel free to PM @Ben xfg or myself if you ever have quick questions about this sort of thing....one of us is likely to know the answer and can make sure you don't have to manually sync anything without digging deep into threads.

I got to change my name here to just myi, don't like the 66081.. But whatever.

You wouldn't by any chance know how the BB q10 works from at&t whether it's compatible with T-Mobile or not really?
Bought one from eBay for my bro as I love bb and so does he, but could not find a T-Mobile version and didn't want the classic as it was a bit to big.
When making calls it goes to edge and looses data, that's not my main concern my main concern is when I'm in a area with his limited connectivity u need 4GLTE to make a call I can't make any calls because I'm going into edge I lose connection right away.

Posted this in another thread more in detail.
And going to try to update my classic and the BB q10 and see what happens.
    Thanks guys.
Btw how did you guys find the update?
Funny how I called TMobile to help me with my new q10 and see what can be done, sad I must say that I knew more than him about the phone and interestingly he told me for the blackberry devices they have one of each in the floor office so they can help with diagnostics on the spot. Lol

The Q10 does indeed actively work with T-Mobile; however, if you bought an AT&T version you might have to unlock/update APN settings to ensure it's working correctly. I'd suggest using an autoloader first to wipe and reload it (back up all data first as it WILL WIPE your device), then put in your brother's T-Mobile SIM and see if that takes care of it.

Failing that it may need to be unlocked/manually updated...which can be done and we can walk you through it, but it's a little more involved than using an autoloader.

Thank you very much. I am a bit confused because I thought I'd tried that one last night too, multiple times. I was reading the forums in the wrong order though and had convinced myself that the '.well-known' server had replaced the 'principals' server.

So my Passport seems to be connected now, thanks.

It's a pity this won't work on the Playbook too!

I used the information below and have questions. Obviously the wiki link could have wrong info but I didn’t waste time for sticky links in CrackBerry for now.

Problem seems to be that with 3G, AT&T model is missing band 4 and that would cause drop to edge. Doesn’t this mean that real solution in this situation is getting T-Mobile Q10 so as to not be spinning wheels and remaining stuck?

By the Wikipedia entry the SQN100-1 (the AT&T model) does have band 4, as does the T-Mobile variant, so I don't think that's the issue. My guess would still be APNs and/or something wonky in the 4G equivalent of the PRL, assuming T-Mo has 4G LTE connectivity for other devices in this area.

The issue that I found with Q10 back then, in many areas, device would fall back onto 3G and T-Mobile is missing band 4 on 3G with T-Mobile so device then drops to edge. This is when LTE coverage is spotty to none in the given area. Not everyone lives in Gotham sir...

Um...I'm seeing the T-Mobile variant as HAVING band 4 on 3G. What am I missing?

That would then make sense for an AT&T device, otherwise compatible with T-Mo, to drop back to 2G in T-Mo-only areas, since the AT&T one does not have band 4 on 3G...but would not affect 4G at all....

Sorry, I reversed it. Using AT&T unlocked on T-MOBILE network. The AT&T model is missing the 3G band 4
