It's possible but based on what I can tell from the API documentation it should be the same for G Suite. It's more likely there's some kind of settings issue in the G Suite Admin settings for James's company.

1. Have you tried the previous server address? For quick reference:

https://www.googleapis.com/.well-known/carddav

Since Google's documentation still lists this it's worth a shot.


2. If not, can you check with your company's IT to see whether they have External Sharing enabled in the G Suite Admin page?

I'm not sure how to explain with a screenshot so I'll try my best without.

This is the server address;

https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v...lists/default/

Look for [email protected] in the server address.

You need to put your email address where that is.

So for example if your email address would be [email protected], the server address would look like this;

https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v...lists/default/

The instructions didn't make sense to me either UNTIL I actually clicked on the link listed in the replies; what is showing is not the complete url you need to enter. This is the server address I entered to get my contacts back: You have to click on the link to see the complete URL.

https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v...lists/default/

Enter your Gmail account where [email protected] is.

this helped me to got it done

Today I was needed to switch from my Passport to a Leap.
Unfortunately have the same issue with the sync of the contacts.
After reading all post and do all as was described, nothing happen.
Deep a little more, found some interesting article on a google site: https://developers.google.com/contacts/carddav/
So from there the rabbit shows from the hat .
The solution which works at the moment is:
1. Go to Accounts.

2. Select Add Account.

3. Select Advanced at the bottom of the screen.

4. Tap CardDav.

5. Enter whatever you like for a description, and your Gmail e-mail address for username and e-mail address. Enter your Gmail password for the password.

6. For the Server Address, enter the following:

[url]https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v1/principals/userEmail/lists/default

With this steps, my Leap again is sync with Gmail.
Hope this help.

Thanks Bacelvo. As a point of clarification, in the URL where you have userEmail, folks do need to put their actual e-mail address as has been indicated in other links. That URL is as follows:

https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v.../lists/default

So the actual process to get contacts syncing hasn't changed; it's just that you dug down and found the underlying API source. Way to find the documentation!

Using 2 step authentication and app password for the carddav I was able to get the contacts synced without jeopardizing security

I ask this because to log into my google account I don't include the " @ gmail.com " suffiix, because "gmail " is just one app available in a google account ( along with youtube,etc.)

So it must be either my google account name OR my gmail address?

Probably the best and least time-consuming option here would be to back up your contacts (just in case) then yes, delete them all and sync your Gmail ones back if they are your "main" contacts.

Sorry about the duplicates my friend....unfortunately that can happen sometimes in syncing mishaps. Getting everything set and then running regular backups (via Sachesi/Link/DBBT and/or Ultimate Backup) is the best way to guard against these things happening in the future.

Great to hear mariosx! Enjoy your new Passport and let us know if you have any issues. There are usually ways to get things working well, as BB10 is still a solid and smooth OS.

No URL changes so far as I am aware Marcolino. Are you signed out of Google on your device's browser? So-called "less secure" app access turned on in your Gmail security settings?
