I have read several threads about how to install leaks. One thing I am not clear on is whether after doing a backup, I should do a security wipe first, and then run the Autoloader, which will do a second security wipe. Thanks.

You can, however it is not necessary.
It is recommended to do a security wipe after the install to ensure everything works fine. If you don't do it chances are that all will be working fine anyways. It is just a precautionary measure in case something is not working right. Better save than sorry ;-)

Thanks. I only ask because I believe I read in the 1047 Leak thread that people were having trouble and it was recommended you security wipe first before installing the leak.
Just so you will know, I have had no problems running 1047 and I did not do the security wipe first. I have done a wipe after the install and then restored the apps, settings and data through Link. So far everything has run smoothly.
