On other platforms it's pretty common to be free.... why would you wanna pay? Then your financial info would be tied to that VPN.

And sometimes very expensive things are even more expensive. Just look at the Iphone...a very expensive device to Market to a person. Pay 700 dollars for a phone to look at Ads and use Crapple pay :-)

If you are hoping for anonymity from a VPN, it is possible to de-anonymize TOR and Bit coin if you have a broad enough view of the network.

When someone is providing a service for free, you should always wonder why.

Oh for sure! But when it comes to VPN s there are a lot of like minded people that like to buck the system...kinda why I used a Blackberry. BlackBerry World has a lot of nice Apps for free...and yet they don't ask for my contacts etc...or if they do, they go into it knowing that Blackberry allows me to adjust permissions and still use the App. I have a z10 100-1 and a passport.

I'd recommend against using a free VPN, unless you're not too concerned about privacy (I'm assuming you are since you're using a BB). Just like FB, Google, etc.. they're making money out of you one way or another.

Take a look at this annual survey of paid-VPN services. Most of them are NOT compatible with BB 10 because they use OpenVPN and other incompatible protocols, but a few of them support IKEv2 which works on BB 10:

I don't either but they seem to have good reviews. Unfortunately you need a dummy email account to sign up for the free account.

I think it's prudent never trust a free VPN. It's a lot of trust to put in someone who is just doing it for kicks.
