Michael Clewley posted on his channel, that in the upcoming 10.2.1 there will be the action bar between the keyboard and text field for example in BBM or when writing an email or text etc

In my opinion it's better to have more screen real estate than the bar...

May be helpful for new users.

I hope I explained it good enough.

Me too. This feature is for ppl who can't adapt. I just swipe back and never use the back button. Just another strip to take up more of my reading space.

Yeah, I hope we can disable it, I mean even my friends on Android and IOS disabled it,one thing BlackBerry doesn't get, people love to see a lot of the chat not cover it all with keyboard and bars.

They should at least reduce the size of the chat bubbles, it's annoying really, and the fact that we have the contact name in the bubble is too damn stupid, I mean we can see the name in the heading above.

On 10.2.1 and using BBM 10.3 beta it is already there but, only in the 1-2-1 convo. It's not available in group or channel chats. It's also available in texts, fb and twitter convo's.

This is already present in 10.2.1.1925, it's only when the keyboard is open, it doesn't really take up that much extra real estate and it's extremely handy. I for one am very happy with the change.

Most people call that the bottom bar and the bar with the contacts name and profile pic the top bar

Also, I've seen it in sms, Facebook chat and twitter DM's chat. All from the hub on 10.2.1.

Any additional bar takes up additional space

i've written in another thread for improvements in 10.3 and one of my recommendations was to make the bottom bar thinner in native BB10 apps. Sometimes the bar just has a back button other times with other icons but it can be a whole lot thinner. I would like more real estate within native apps without that bar being in the way. It's removeable on the droid apps... it's so much nicer not to have a huge bar taking space up.

To prove my point, look at SirJes's attached pic in his post. That bar is easily covering up 2 lines of text.

For some silly reason swiping back doesn't work when bbm'ing via the hub. Same with WhatsApp.

I don't wanna sound like a jerk but you guys know...... most of the stuff Michael Clewley posts is already known or already present for those running leaks. He's not really allowed to 'leak' stuff, so he shows rather obvious things. Still cool he does it mind you but most of it is known.

True, but most/some of us don't use leaks so it's kinda new to us.

No, not when you have opened up the keyboard. And that's the point where the back button is missing. I always have to reduce the keyboard. Annoying, really.
