Wow - some of you folks are ridiculous. I don't give a flying rat's heiny if anyone doesn't need or use Flash. I do. I use it for work and play. It's not a choice. I don;t care what the entire world wide web will look like in 10 years. Right now - right this second there are ten's of thousands of sites that I use - that use flash.

That's olympic standard exaggeration. Even if you meant Web pages.

Its just that some legacy sites which aren't updated will cause issues...

I respect the decision that BlackBerry takes --- seems too dramatic

All of these sites people reference better get on the change train. Mobile Flash is dead and the industry and users are quickly moving on. If they don't adapt, they'll be left behind. It's a mobile world now. Flash will exist for desktops and laptops, but not for mobile devices which is where everything is moving. If they want to be relevant in a year or two, and, yes, that's how quickly markets are moving, they'll be dinosaurs and extinct. I work in the media business and its amazing how rapidly consumer habits are changing. Flash is dead.

I can no longer watch BBC iplayer from the mobile site have to download a android app which is laggy.

I can no longer watch videos on my favourite football teams website lfc.tv.

I've also noticed on the odd few sites it says your device is not compatible, I did not have these issues before.

Flash is still handy!

This popular Indian music website does not have BlackBerry 10 app.. nor do they have an app on Amazon app store.. Android port works great but it's a pain to install it, for majority of people..
Full website played best quality music out there.. better than the apps..



Also.. did you guys know that even YouTube uses flash for certain things like subscribed streaming of HD sports like willow cricket..

No matter what anyone says about non usefulness of flash.. for BlackBerry with a lacking app store it is a must have..

I am trying to live without it.. but have my eyes open for alternative browsers..

I haven't found the lack of flash to be material to me. But...that's me.

The places I watch video via the browser still work as they detect the HTML5 capability and work fine. While I'm sure some other people have a different view it won't matter to me at all.

Flash is a dead letter for mobile, like it or not. It's not BlackBerry, it's Adobe that killed it in that environment.

Another thought; I'm no developer, but perhaps the mobile version of Flash, which Adobe stopped development of (in 2011?), isn't compatible with 10.3.1.xxxx.

10.3.1. is an incremental change from 10.3. No reason at all why it would not be compatible when it works just fine in 10.3. This is purely a cost savings measure. Logic goes as follows. We're enterprise now. Enterprises don't need Flash so let's kill the development of it. Remember, BlackBerry sourced Flash from Adobe and supported it independently. I would not be surprised if they cut the group that was responsible for it.

At this point it's like they are giving a big middle finger to consumers saying "there really isn't a reason for you to go with our platform or devices so why don't you just run along to Android or iOS".

iOS doesn't support it native either, nor does Android.

You can sideload it for Android, but it's not in the system by default any more.

So exactly how is this BlackBerry "telling people to go to another platform" when they don't have it built in either?

Such constant negative assessment of BlackBerry's actions is becoming uncomfortable. It's like being in the same room with someone waving a loaded gun claiming there's toxic gas outside where there's no Flash (or something else you want) and BlackBerry is forcing us to exit.

Flash will always be in 10.3.0.* so you can always stay in this room and use Flash. The Flash-free air outside is still breathable and BlackBerry will still be a great platform to use out there.

Focusing on problems and constantly looking for the negative angle to every BlackBerry decision is not helpful. I understand you had a negative experience with BlackBerry recently but at least try to let go some of your anger and see some positive elements to their direction.

BlackBerry does have reason, logic, business sense, love for their customers and it?s unfair to claim otherwise just because you disagree with their way of doing things.

BTW the 10.3.1 browser has a number of material improvements over 10.3.0 and earlier, including a somewhat-gnarly auto-font-resizing bug that was squashed.

That, plus the performance and HTML5 compatibility improvements, make a monstrous and very real difference to me in my use of the device on the websites I visit regularly.

All-in 10.3.1 is a major step forward, not backward.

I will do that as soon as possible I was using MLB it worked fine the videos were playing. I will try to find a better example of flash and post it soon =) and let you know if it lags or anything
