I can no longer watch BBC iplayer from the mobile site have to download a android app which is laggy.

I can no longer watch videos on my favourite football teams website lfc.tv.

I've also noticed on the odd few sites it says your device is not compatible, I did not have these issues before.

    Flash is still handy!

    Posted via CB10
Ah yes, what would we do without a little fix of the Reds. As you pointed out, LFC.TV videos do not play without Flash in the native browser. I am still on OS 10.2.1 (I don't peak at my Christmas presents, and I generally don't load leaks), so they play great with Flash turned on. The native browser is also fast.

I did download the Dolphin browser from the Amazon store to see what options may be once I am using 10.3.1. It's actually a pretty good browser, even on the Q10. The odd thing is that LFC.TV videos play whether Menu>Settings>Web Content>Flash is set to Off, On Demand, or On. The help file also says that a Flash player must exist on the device, so I'm not sure what this will mean with the upcoming OS release. Someone else can maybe check functionality for you.

Best hopes that websites still clinging to Flash will get with the program sooner than later. Flash is dead; it just doesn't know it yet.

Note: these sites are all BlackBerrys target market and they just came out with a phone that most people would use on desktop mode (Passport) which uses more flash. How ironic

Long story short, they played us to the left on this. I've been drooling over a new passport because I'd have a better screen to watch Web content on, but, this **** changes everything. I don't just watch u tube videos. I could've stayed with iphone if I wanted a watered down Web experience. -10

Flash is everywhere, it's just that some are falling back to the old adage of "ignorance is bliss".

By the way, some of you beta program members, do the community a service and point them to the 10s of sites that just a single user has been posting here showing all of them in a crippled or non functional state because of lack of Flash.

No doubt, this is extremely ironic because the whole purpose of the Passport was to work wide and see more content. "You can use it like a desktop" they said. Yeah right <_<

My Fukin Point Exactly, What the hell. HTML5 is GREAT BUT 3/4ths of the web is FLASH. All you idiots who keep arguing that flash is dead, I personally hit at least 5 websites a day that use flash on my Q10 10.3.0.1154. Thats on normal usage days including my bank, work and school websites. Flash ISNT dead it IS still used and so many programmers have it down that they will CONTINUE to use it for ages. Stop making the phone Average like ICrap and AnBoyd. Use your ******* heads BB

ADD: When did supporting LESS Content become Better? Why is Chrome so successful? Because it supports Everything you need. Just because Apple (one of the most cut-throat Bullies in the corporate world) does it doesn't mean Blackberry should

Don't worry. Your viewpoint is being very well represented in the beta zone.

Plus, although I am not a big Flash user (as you may have guessed), I too have been logging a large number of sites.

Keep on listing sites on here. They will most likely end up in the Beta Zone group.

PMing me exact video URLs will work too (i don't want to fiddle around with the site). I just posted pics to prove a point.

Is it looking like they may reverse their decision to strip Flash out? Any hints at all?

They've said nothing beyond the request for sites. I am very curious to know what this is leading to. Whether it was initiated by higher ups, or is just a pet project by a moderator is anyone's guess.

I see why they've done it (cost wise) but it's still sad that they cut flash out. It's nice to be able to have EVERYTHING work on my phone as opposed to most things.

Also if they ever make another tablet flash would be awesome to have on it. They just need to make what they PlayBook should have been

Interesting, had guessed you were completely anti-Flash, so that changed my viewpoint on all of your comments now..

Anywho, thanks to all of you who are actually in the beta zone group able to report these websites! Given the chance i would, but i haven't.. lol

Flash is being dropped because it sucks up resources, is continually having to be updated, and presents a security vulnerability since it requires code to be run on the device and not the server.

Oh buzz off with your security vulnerability theory. No one says blackberry has to run flash in the background 24/7. here's an idea: disable it by default. Hell, take away the shortcut too so that I can't even enable it from ui. Do the same as if you accidentally erased your browser.bar. No shortcut / pointer to the location of the code in core file equals no security threads. But guess what : if I am skilled/determined enough, I can figure out where the api hooks are and make a kick *** flash player app.

This might be an ignorant final sentence as I haven't done any research on this topic but here goes: if BlackBerry is so hell bent on security (according to you), why do we get a new leak every couple of weeks despite Chen making that big fuss announcement about cracking down on leaks? No wait, that's silly. The fact that both BlackBerry and iPhone are closed source software devices yet I can't remember last time apple leaked an os or any small part of it for that matter....but that's just coincidence, right? You know you might be right. I'll just go install a small ,highly suspicious file from the Internet called snap...so that I can have an easier access to random, un-monitored ,application executables NOT intended nor developed to ever successfully launch let alone run on my device. Right. But I'm so glad that all of us blackberry owners are so security aware due to blackberry's utmost diligence to keep vulnerable applications out that you probably don't even know what snap is: because let's face it, you would never download a random unknown executable file from the Internet and install it. It might be full of vulnerabilities. Ok. But let's be serious for a second (if you couldn't see mountains of sarcasm above): so the flash is gone. Was it vulnerable? Sure. But at least its vulnerabilities were more or less known. And if you stayed away from port sites, Russian mail order bride pages and ***cough*** government portals - you were safe. At least flash was looking for, catching and reporting them. For all you know, your favorite app might have been coded by Natasha who doesn't speak English at all and who ,in her spare time, "livestreams" at 3am with nothing but socks on via a .ru.gov proxy that I'm sure she got from her new ambassy acquaintance Bogdan completely legally. (see what I did there?)

Final final thought ,I promise. I'm not sure about you, but I myself and pretty much all of my friends have and use Gmail pretty exclusively. It might even be your "recovery email" in case you forget your bank of America password. Have you ever pondered about what if the guy who wrote snap (I'll call him Natasha...too far?) what if Natasha came up with the best man-in-the-middle attack ever? What if the password you so happily surrendered ends up in someone's giant database ?
