Verizon Z30 users on 10.3.1 know the SMS Bug I'm talking about, and I have finally found an extremely simple fix. This is for the "General Error" or whatever it was message you'd get when trying to send a text message that wouldn't go away until you rebooted your phone. Well, I noticed that it was related to the Video calling option that would sometimes show in my phone app when I was in a specific location. After that, I'd have to always reboot my phone to send a text message.

Anyways, to the fix. Go to your settings and select "Networks and Connections". Then click "IMS Status" on the bottom. Now turn everything off. Turn off Video Calling and VoLTE Voice Calling. It might require a reboot before the fix works, but I'm now on 3 days without a texting issue, which is 2 days longer than any time while on 10.3.1.



I hope this works for everyone as well as it has worked for me. Good luck!

By the way, I'm on Z30STA100-3/10.3.1.1151. I did not change my radio or anything else.

I'm pretty sure I've tried that, but it eventually turns back on. I'm on radio 1011 now with no issues for about a week.

Hmmm...Ive had this SMS bug but never any message about video calling. I haven't rebooted my phone in 4 days and so far, all my texts are going through. If I run into trouble again, I will try this fix and let you know if it works.

Just make sure you reboot after turning off these settings. It won't work until a reboot happens in my experience.

The fix is to switch carriers. VZW has incessant sms problems with all makes of devices.

That's hardly the answer to the question. lol
No one has better coverage than VZW for us east coasters.

If it worked for you, it's a fix, everyone's device is a little different.
