Many people have reported, and I have also found this to be true:
For about 24 hours after any update, your battery might run hotter and drain more quickly than you're used to. This will stabilise on its own, and after about a day or 2, on this latest update anyway, it will run cooler and last longer than it did before the update. But give it time, the battery can take a full 24+ hours to settle into regular behaviour again.
Installed yesterday (autoloader+restore) sideliaded snap 2 + porsche design clock, resetting all for sync. Yep, the battery was hot for some like 5 hours for me, less than what I experienced with other leaked OS.

Today use : reading email + news. This morning + some phone calls, using docs to go during church time (2hours meaning ), 12 minutes of BBM video with my brother + sms texting... after 9 hours battery was at 46% all this using 4G!!!

Yes I am on my first day and loving the battery life. I am disappointed with Snap android applications as I have only gotten one to work so far.

Well I never ran it over night, but more than happy with 17+ hours in normal to heavy use.

Here's where my experiment stands. 30+ hours and 52% left.

I am guessing my dark Q10 theme and black wallpaper are bumping my System (18%) up over the Display (11%) total usage, the reverse order of the above Z10 experience (that's an impressive run; System and Disply are virtually tied.)

I'm on Normal to Heavy (for me) usage at this point: went to brunch Sunday (meaning coordinating a lot of texts with folks) took some pics, mailed some pics, and had a heavy "Check the News on Missing Jet Session (notice the sudden drop) before bed last night.

I have also seen dramatic battery improvement on both Q10 and Z10 as well as general stability of the OS - A long time BB user I hesitated to use "leaked OS's" but with AT&T's policies being what they are I felt I had little to lose. I wish I had taken the step months prior. BTW I used the "Full Backup then Autoloader" method which went well.

Well yesterday I had 17 hours with 20+% battery remaining. Today down at 14 hours with 10% remaining. Heavier use though I would say today.

So not magic battery life added, but solid improvements in apparent standby. I will monitor further and report accordingly.

So far, 37+ hours and 34% remaining at 7pm THE NEXT DAY. And I believe I woke up "a little" before 5:40 am on Sunday (posting is Monday, St. Pat's Day, so this is slightly underestimating thing :-)

It says 12 hours-- I might go more than 48 hours (37+12=49!!!) so I am wondering what the TOP LEVEL of Device Monitor really is-- it would seem 48 hours is the limit, but I guess we shall find out!

of course it was mainly idle (95% of time), Wifi and data activated, no auto syncs (1 manual in the morning)

I feel like 2141 is a better fit for me. Battery and signal were good on it. I can't claim battery life on this update as I only used it a couple days, but signal and network speeds suffered for me. I have had delays in text messaging ( incoming and outgoing ) as well as difficulty receiving mms. I'm happy it is great for some, but I feel 2141 is a better fit for Verizon.

Just updated the radio file from 2142 to 2229 so my OS is still at 2141. This is just to test my theory that the radio version 2142 is the main culprit of battery drain using 3-4G. The drain seems a bit similar but I'll see til tomorrow when I get 24hrs.

Tempted to switch to the latest leak after hearing all the battery improvement comments.
However, I'm an STL100-1 user, and past experience has taught me never to trust Device Monitor.
So, I'm sticking to 10.2.1.2102 for now while waiting for an official release of the latest .2228 leak or just another leak with unique features.

I tested both radios and the battery drain (not really a drain tbh ) was the same for me as well as reception - this was for Vodafone Germany so your results may be different

Remember this is not a "leak" - it is a production release from a particular carrier. (T-Mobile USA, at the moment)

Silly to wait for an "official release" of 2228, as mentioned, this IS an official release for at least one carrier. And if your carrier releases 2228, it will be 100% identical to this build. Only if they released a different numerical version would it be different.

Don't want to wipe all my apps and data for an OS that is not entirely different from what I have now. Would have used Sachesi but not interested. That's why I'm waiting for an OTA update or better a newer leak that is worth wiping my apps and data for.

I've noticed a dip in battery life now. It was great for a day, then it's steadily dropped. Which is strange as ice used my phone almost exactly the same amount of time each day.

    Device Monitor is your friend:

Not sure what you mean. In pics above when at 52% power Display was 11%; and when at 34% power left, Display was at 20%. If you are talking about the BEAST thread, that first pic of 5.8% Display (with 86% power left) was not part of the official experiment-- it was the first time I nocticed on Display Monitor a good life but I knew that was a "slow day" (lots of Alienware gaming, light phone usage) so the next day I started posting with a full charge and putting up pics (itself a battery-consumer!) at regular intervals with normal-to-heavey (for me!) usage.

That all said, I do disclose that I have a black background and only use phone for comms, so no sweet tooth Candy Crushing etc for me. My battery drains (noticeable dips) have been the few occasions where someone sends me a video and I watch, or major browsing session and picture downloading.

As I keep saying, "your mileage may vary" and my experiment has been to see if I can go a night without refueling, on a regular basis, as a long-term way of *hoping* to reduce wear and tear on the battery.
