Nice One!!! I just happened to see this entry on the forum because I wanted to contact another forum poster about having good android services wirking on his os10 phone. As i wondered if he'd put whatsapp on & got it working via the android store + what it's functionality was like?
Regardless, has anyone successfully accomplished what I'm on about? Please pin me with your reply too. 28A0F6CE

Just tried again, same as b4 stuck "looking for backup ". I wonder why some people get it to work while others have this ever lasting search for backups.

I have not tried WA apk yet, but I have tried to delete the backups stored in folder /misc/whatsapp/backups ? *

    * path from android file explorers.
    /accounts/1000/shared/misc/whatsapp/backup/

These files seems encrypted so I suppose it can be the cause

Apparently some persons have it working. I've tried with no luck, someone said WhatsApp version 2.16.225 works on his device you may want to try and see if it'll work for u.

... Blocking means technical effort for whatsapp and losing costumers. They don't sell Smartphones so what should be the benefit of blocking Android-Whatsapp? Whatsapp will not have any advantage, if they are blocking customers on OS10. There is a simple cost use bill behind the decision of not supporting OS10. Blocking Android Whatsapp on OS10 means costs for something whatsapp has no advantage for.

Could you give some logic arguments for your opinion?

Hey there, thank you for providing us a possibility to use WhatsApp in the future.

Maybe someone can programm an app to make it a lil easier to use the Webinterface. For example a small browser only for WhatsApp. Moreover, the QR Code should be used as a background for the camera to be able to scan the QR Code.

It would likely be the same result if the current Android release is set to expire before 2017. It might be worth trying again with any new updates in November or December (assuming they expire a few months into 2017). dkonigsberg explains a bit more in the thread I linked to, all WhatsApp builds on all platforms expire after a while.

...this actually is, how whatsapp works on my Q10!

But I stopped using WAA Fixer because it did not work every time. I'm not able to send any media with Android-Whatsapp. But the rest works like he explains in the video.

Funny - this is what happens with an Windows System too, if you change the date of the system.

This means absolutely nothing. Try it on a real Android Phone, the error message will be the same.

You are mixing up different informations. This conversation is about the OS10 Version of Whatsapp. Of course the OS10 Version will not work in 2017.

I'm talking about the Android-Version and there is still no reason, this version will not work in 2017.

@usman_hidayat19, whenever I boot my Z10, the system indicates the date as 18 August and sometimes it takes up a few minutes to recognize the actual date&time. And, whenever i try to use WhatsApp in this short interval, it warns me about the date and does not work. So, i think your try on date change does not mean anything.

Exactly. dkonigsberg, the maintainer of the BB10 client who also participates here, said that every version has an expiration date. It checks with their server if it's expired or not. So even if you dial back the date, WA still knows that the actual date is different 'cause their server tells it that.

Honestly, I'd rather deal with Telegram. The APK works fine on BlackBerry devices. I'm able to upload images and use the camera function on the app without any modifications.

I would get my SO to switch to BBM, but it's never been reliable for the both of us.

I recently installed the three apks following Cobalt's landing page on Crackberry.
I also installed the patcher, but when I try to open it, it gives me an error message.
Do you know if Cobalt's solution is really still valid? Because for the moment I have installed whatsapp from google play but I'm unable to run it because of the google play services issue.
Finally, I don't even know how to remove the app since it's useless.

I'd like to try your solution, but I want to fix the mess I've put on my blackberry first.

From all the threads I've read I came to understand that WA is not depended on GPS (although it will be in the future) so are you sure that that's the issue you're having?
