@agkanth you cannot send videos taken on the BlackBerry camera at all unfortunately. Unless you received them from someone on whatsapp itself and are forwarding them to someone else within the app.

Many thanks to this forum and Hamed in particular. I've managed to install android whastapp on my classic after following the procedure. But now there are 2 whatsapps on my mobile - one is the original BB10 whatspp and the other one is the new android whatsapp. Can I safely delete the whatsapp for BB10?

If you have checked that all of your chats and media are now on the Android WA client then yes. Old WhatsApp will not be functional but AFAIK you should still be able to look up all of your old chats and media on it ? I cannot say as I managed to delete native WA chats and media

No, the BB10 whatsapp is not responding anymore. It just tries to load endlessly. I guess I can delete it safely. Besides, I have one more query. There is a database folder on the device as well as the SD card. It has saved what I believe is the chat history - some kind of "crypto" files. Is there a way to retrieve this chat history on the android whatsapp?

Can you post here the exact directory path of the folders where those files are please, both internal and SD.

I am now guessing this might actually be your current ie Android WA chat history. You see it both in internal memory and SD card but it really exists on the SD card only, what you see in internal memory is its 'reflection' through the symlink created by WhatsFixer.

Install app, tap OUTSIDE the box when warned about Google Play Services.

Run patch from BlackBerry World:
