At the moment, there is no "select all" option in the file manager. To move so much data, I'd suggest plugging it into your PC. In "My Computer", you should see two entries, one for SD card and one for the internal flash. Open the two in side-by-side windows, and just drag and drop the files you want to move.

They better have this feature in 10.3.. it is such an annoyance to not be able to select all. Small but vital feature.

It also depends if you looking to 'copy' or 'move' the files.

OK, then it's a cut and paste, or copy and delete.

That's the same thing. I meant copy and leave if they want copies on both.

I wish they added the ability to scroll from picture to picture on the file manager. I don't like having opening one photo, exit, then the other. I can always use the picture app but it's never sorted by type or name. It's always sorted by date taken or something along those lines.

A "select all" option for the file manager would be quite convenient on certain occasions.

And easier multi-selection in emails, files, etc...

Why can't I tap on the first and last email/contact/file/etc... in a series and have everything in between selected?

Oh well, they're busy monkeying with the UI for 10.3, maybe they'll add this functionality in 10.8

I disagree. Multi select of emails is already simple and fast enough. You can "Select More" from the overflow menu or you can long press the date and "Mark Prior Read" and "Delete Prior".

Your segguestion of marking first and last and everything in between just auto selecting itself would driver a normal user like myself mad. It is completely unintuitive. The only way that works is on a PC because you have multiple different shortcuts that can be used more easily through a mouse and keyboard combination; and even then why bother going through all that when you can just hit "ctrl + A" which is the select all shortcut.

There is no select all but if the files are in a folder then moving the folder essentially does the same thing. And takes less steps then select all function would.

Ofcourse if everything is in the root directory and no folders then you are SOL.

You can select multiple files and move or copy to sd card in file manager.

Unless you're talking about something other than file manager....

See the "select" option on the bottom of menu?
In "file manager" why no option for "select all" :(-img_20140601_235126.png

The point of this thread is that there is no "Select all" option in the file manager. So if, let's say, I have 45 pictures in a folder that I want to move from my device storage to my SD card, I don't have to select 45 individual files by long pressing one files clicking select more and clicking 44 additional files. With a "Select all" option I could just click the overflow menu and click select all.

And before someone says you can just move the whole folder; no, you can't always move the whole folder. The folders at the root of the device storage can not be moved using the file manager app. The only way to achieve moving a large amount of files easily is by connecting the device to a computer which then allows you do use the computer file manager to select all; which is how I have done so in the passed, but it would be much better if we had the option in the native device file manager.
