Was just thinking....Product life cycle of Z10 is almost over. According to me no more feature updates are going to come Z10 way and this platform is going to be rendered as lower end / entry level model so kind of abandoned too.

So how would it fair as a experimental device for nerds / hobbbiests?

Will BlackBerry listen and open it up for loading other OSs? Starting with Ubuntu?

I am intending to put this amazing hardware for better use. I think Ubuntu will allow that.

10.2.1 isn't going to add anything new. Just some polishing here and there I suppose. Mostly I hear or read what ISN'T going to be there for Z10.

Why do you say the Z10 will in effect no longer be supported by BlackBerry? Please link your sources so all of us can be enlightened.

And in all fairness, the current OS let us do plenty of things already. The screen is gorgeous, it runs smoothly.

Any changes will mostly be cosmetic and tiny improvements.

As long as they keep the browser up to date, it should be fine.

That will do too provided HTC gets to decide specifications.

It is so embarrassing when I have to keep saying no WIFI Direct on Z10.

I'd love to be able to install any OS available on my Z10.
Maybe one day, phone manufacturer will sell empty phone that can be installed with any OS we want, should be cheaper, and paid OS should be acceptable then.
Or a phone with a tiny OS that can access an OS store to download and install the OS directly on phone. OS treated like apps
Next we can have dual OS on phone

But BB10 OS with unlocked android Runtime is a good start for now.

    Ok, back to reality
