    Hi,

I have a SD card in my Q10 and I encrypted it.

A few days ago, there was a message after the Q10 was restarted "your media card was encrypted on another device. To usethe media card in this device, go to your Storage and Access settings and format the media card"

I did not take my SD card out of the Q10, so I don't understand why the the message comes up that the card was encrypted on another device.

Would appreciate any advice, I can see the files in the SD Card, but I can't open the files on my Q10 or on my PC.

    Thank you.

Tried taking it out and putting it back in? Or if still not working try the volume rockers reboot?

No luck with taking out the card or doing the reset via the volume rockers.

    Any other ideas?

Why were you advised to restart? Did you receive an OS update by chance? I know that the device will warn you on the Encrypt screen of OS updates causing the card to become inaccessible but I would like to think BB would take that into consideration for OTA updates.

The only update I did was to 10.2. I think that I encrypted the card after 10.2.

So it was just that after a restart (probably something crashed) that I got this problem...

I'm having the same problem. Encrypted 64 gb SD card formatted on phone with 10.1 (encryption enforced through bes policy). Phone now on version 10.2.0.424. Never taken SD card it out of my phone. Received the error message after a reboot and now I can't play any of my music, videos or open pictures. Thumbnails all work fine, the pictures will actually fully display briefly before disappearing upon opening.

    Yup, join the boat.

I tried to copy the files to my PC or even onto the phone memory but it doesn't allow me to do that. I don't want to format my SD card and lose all my data, photos...

    Melwin,

I see the files with the normal file extension, e.g jpg. I don't see the rem extension.

I tried to rename the files but no luck either.
