I'm using 10.3.0.296 with the .442 bars on top (and the 700 browser and android on top of that, though I don't think it matters). When I send emails through my exchange active sync account, they fail to send about 50% of the time - I get a red circle/slash through them. If I open the failed email up and click resend (the shortcut on the right side of the bottom bar), it always sends without an issue.

It's an annoyance rather than a problem, since the second try always works, but I recently switched phones so I had to security wipe and set up the new phone and the issue still occurs, so I figured I'd ask about it. I have a Gmail account set up too and I don't believe it happens there, though I send way less email.

Otherwise my 296/442/700 hybrid is awesome!

I've seen this kind of intermittent problem with several devices. I suspect the real cause is timeout due to slow response time from the server - and that could have many causes mostly outside the originating smartphone.

It's possible it could be the server, but it started as soon as I upgraded to 10.3.0.296, and continues after the reformat. Other people at the company have various builds of 10.2.1 and nobody experiences the problem I'm seeing, so I'm pretty sure it's related to 10.3.

Just wanted to see if other users of 10.3 had the same issue on their exchange server.

I had exactly the same issue with an exchange account on .296/442 but haven't had the same issue (yet) since upgrading to .700 with the updated / missing bars. I don't know if it was an OS or radio file issue but it happened to me all the time even with full signal and wifi. Tis worth a try if you fancy giving .700 with the bars a spin? 😊

Do you know which bar sends the email? I can try upgrading that bar by hand from the 700 dev OS to see if that fixes it. I'm using the 699 radio and can try downgrading that as well, though I expect it's not related as the second attempt always works (though battery on that radio is less than ideal).

I would try sys.pim.email.card.bar, sys.pim.email.composer.car.bar and possibly also sys.pim.messages.bar

I'm not sure how much integration there is with contacts and and calendar so after side-loading the above if there is still issues I would try the contacts and calendar bars too?

I tried various combinations of those files from .700 and it destabilized the phone - sys.pim.messages from .700 (10.3.0.135) seemed to cause some especially erratic behavior, including sluggishness, hub fails to load (black screen, no messages or receiving of new messages of any kind) and crazy battery drain. In the end, I just reverted everything back to that bars from .442 and I'm going to deal with the problem until whatever version is next comes out.

It doesn't sound like it's affecting people who installed .700 and the functionality bar pack, but I'm not ready to take that plunge yet - I'm otherwise perfectly happy with my 296/442 hybrid
