Earlier this week, my Blackberry Q10 was suddenly dropped from our mobile network. After replacing the SIM card, I was told that my BBQ10 was dropped because it is simply too old. There is one file in particular that I want to back up. How do I do this without being able to connect to my mobile network? Thanks in advance for the help.

Use Wi-Fi? Use a USB cable?

I tried Wi-Fi and a USB cable and Blackberry Link. The message was that I needed to connect to my mobile network, which I can no longer do.

On your PC enable SMB V1 file sharing support, plug in your device with a USB cable and open the PC's file explorer. Click on This PC, locate the internal storage of your device and navigate to the file in question, then drag and drop to your desktop. Now disable SMB v1 again ASAP.

You could also share using Bluetooth to another device.

Where do I find the SMB V1 file sharing support?

Press the windows key on the keyboard, type control panel and open the panel. Find programs and features, click on it then click on Turn Windows features on or off. Scroll to SMB 1.0 and check the box beside it. You'll need to restart the PC for the change to take place.
Bear in mind that it is a security risk so would be pragmatic to disable again once you're done.

Could transfer with a micro SD card, all else failing, if you have another handset or an adapter for you computer.

Thank you for all your help. I did not find the file. I'll try the SD card.

When do you get that message?

I inserted the SD card into my laptop. I have an icon labeled "Remember" in my BBQ10. It holds passwords and other information. It did now show up on the SD card.

In Remember, tap the three dots bottom right.

"Share" gives you several options which, depending on the sensitivity of the data, you may or may not want to use (email is one option).

Or, for a non-outside solution, copy the data into a "docs to go" document, save that on the SD card. That's my best guess at a solution.

So if I get you right, the icon is a folder named "remember" and you can now access it from your laptop. The problem is solved?

When I click the three dots bottom right, I get the following choices: Sort order, Voice Note, New Note, and New Note Folder.

You first have to open the note you want to send, then the 3 dots.

Thank you! That worked! I have over 100 notes, but it will be worth taking the time to go through them. Thank you again!

As it turns out, my REMEMBER file is NOT a file, but an AP. Is there a way to move this AP to my SD card?
