Just curious as I don't suffer from it myself. According to the latest official update change log the double typing error has been fixed!



Has anyone who's had issues been sorted with this update? I come across a few old pkb BlackBerry now and again but been put of by the history of troubles.

Sweet! Didn't see that post. Too little too late perhaps for bb10? Only time will tell. Think I might pick up a q10 as a backup for my Passport

The image I posted was an extract from that pdf which is why I asked the question. Also read through the other thread. Really good news, I don't subscribe to the extra delay for degrading keyboards theory. Sounds like BlackBerry have managed to find the sweet spot between software and hardware.

I feel this fix should have been prioritised and dealt with a lot earlier on rather than on possibly the last os update. Must be another slap in the face for people who have suffered from dt issues.

Double typing issue could be due to either hardware or software issue. So not necessarily an updated OS will fix it unless it is a software issue. I have been having this double typing issue and after updated my Classic with the beta OS a little more than a week ago, it does seems that my dt issue has gone away. Hope it will permanently work.

I hope so too. Even just to futures proof my own device. I go along with the software argument. Seems unlikely to me that BlackBerry would bring out a fix because they thought kb were degrading. Why would they put out a fix for everyone even if their device was brand new. Surely the same fix would have a totally different effect on an older device if this was the case.

I would guess that the level BlackBerry had set to start with wasn't right in the wild. Maybe in pre release when tested by their own staff it seemed right but now they've found a one size fits all setting.

That's not to say that it wouldn't happen to a genuinely faulty keyword which would be an hardware issue. I suppose it wouldn't be impossible for BlackBerry to build in a setting where you could adjust your own bounce timing, something similar to setting the sensitivity of a touchpad on your laptop. This way if your keyboard was starting to dt you could turn up the timing as the keyboard degrades until you needed to change the physical kb, hopefully not necessary through the life of the phone.

Unfortunately, given the vibe that seems to be about with android at the moment a big change like that would seem unlikely. Unless BlackBerry announced 10.3.3 coming soon! If they are it's the best kept secret in the world.
