BlackBerry shuts down BBM Meetings - Business Insider

The only thing standing in the way of cross-platform BBM video was BBM meetings.

Since they're killing the paid service and referring users to zoom as an alternative, perhaps it opens the door for us?

..hopefully John Chen will not charge us for it.

This is the same company, who's advertising their only successful commodity of late is selling people the right to use 10 giant smiley faces for 2 bucks a pop.

I'd be willing to bet:
- No cross platform video
- Starting to charge users for video instead

The only time I saw people use BBM Meetings, was when they hit the button by accident in a chat.

I use BBM Meetings to hold weekly team meetings.

No doubt it's been useful for those that could adopt it . But I've seen very few companies that are BB-only. Mind you I'm in startup communities now, so byod is the mantra.
