I am currently running BlackBerry 10.2.1 (need it for wi-fi calling), and wondering if Android push notifications work differently or any better on BlackBerry 10.3.1?

Specifically, I can run Slack or HipChat on 10.2.1, but neither will provide push notifications if someone messages me. As a result, I need to open the applications to see any messages, which is a nuisance.

I am considering changing carriers in order to get support for a new BlackBerry (and no longer being tied to T-Mobile's lack of support for the platform) but I'm nervous about making the leap if this doesn't work better.

Does anyone use IM clients like Slack and HipChat? Do they work better in 10.3.1?
