I hate the brightness controls in BB10, I want to turn off auto Diming and run my phone at full brightness at all times.

Persons running 10.3 can auto Diming be disabled?

I wish it had a "set brightness to A when it is X bright, and set brightness to B when it is Y bright."

Right now it's perfect when it's day time, but too bright at night.

I don't understand what you guys are talking about. I thought they fixed that. I do understand what the problem is cause I had it on my playbook and I used to have it on my z10, but now it's always on the brightness I set it to. Maybe it's a defect?? But it's to my advantage I guess

Even on full brightness the screen will dim based on the amount of light the sensor pics up.

You are opposite opinion as OP, in case this wasn't obvious. He wants it BRIGHTER at night (but didn't explain use case why brightness was desired more than battery life, such as bad eyes).

He can set his screen timeout longer, I think, as I work around. Haven't tried, don't plan to.

Note that the brighter the back light, faster the battery go.

I've no issues with faster battery drain. My Z30 last a little over 24hrs on one charge now.

And don't worry that my battery will die faster. You don't have to follow me and disable auto Diming if it's made available.

I 1000% agree with you. The BlackBerry team needs to implement the same brightness controls the PlayBook had.

I'm not aware of any other operating system mobile or otherwise that does not let the end user disable the automatic brightness if so desired.

But of course this is BlackBerry were talking about and they always know what is best for us... Not!!!

Disabling auto brightness will not increase your brightness during high light conditions, and it won't dim your screen more during low light conditions.

What we need is a more sensitive brightness adjustment control at the extremes, mostly for the Z30 and q10.

I think it's something to do with the type of screen the z30 uses,
But if you use an android screen brightness app you can see how bright the z30 screen can really go... why can't BlackBerry just give us this option themselves????

There's nothing worse than not being able to see your screen outside the house in the sun.

I'm on 10.3.0.296/442 and I can turn my brightness all the way up...no problem there...just eats battery...doesn't dim...stays bright as ever even in the pitch black of the forest...no kidding. I'm serious.

Mine doesn't. I tried today to see any difference is light emission and there is none. I think my light sensor stopped working or something
