I know this has annoyed a lot of people but I wasn't sure if BlackBerry has addressed the issue. Anyone know of anything?

Would it be so hard for 60, 90, 120, etc.. (or even custom) timeframes?

If I want an email that's 33 days old, I'd have to sync the mailbox since the beginning of time, which in my case would be about 10 years. That's a lot of email to keep on a phone.

Compare that to the "antiquated" BIS where you could easily pick and choose what emails to keep on your phone for as long as you want, sync timeframes seem quite limiting.

If I remember correctly you would need 10.1.0.4xxx to make it work.

Your carrier probably doesn't have it. You would need to load a leak.

Some people are giving you bad information. The issue is still present in almost all types of email accounts.

I have 7 email accounts on my Dev Alpha C - running: SQN100-3/10.2.0.1047 - and only 2 of those accounts can sync emails that are older than 30 days. The others, can't.

The two that work are Microsoft accounts, one is Hotmail the other is Outlook. None of my other accounts have a setting to change email sync period. None of them have ever had that setting. The setting is in the Advanced settings menu. Which looks like this:

    Attachment 193800

That is what I see in Hotmail and Outlook. This is what I see in all my other accounts, including Gmail:

    Attachment 193798

When you press the advance settings button you get this screen:

    Attachment 193799

Which is awesome, but as my screen shots show, that settings option is only available for some accounts.

So you might want to keep that in mind if your most used email accounts aren't from Microsoft.

Saiga is right I should have been more specific. POP accounts will only sync 30 days. If memory serves correct, the MR release I spoke of pushes imap sync options to 90 days and forever. An exchange server should be capable of all of the above on your current setup.

As I recall, the time frame for the initial sync is set when and only when you add the account to your phone. Delete and add the email account again -- making sure to set the sync time frame to "forever" or whatever you desire..

Yeah, my school email has worked since it's an exchange account but both my Gmail accounts can't go back any farther than 90 days.

Does anyone know if BlackBerry plans on changing it in 10.2? If not, is there anyway to get around this?

You're correct. While setting up the email address, click advanced on the bottom of the page and click your desired setting, up to forever.
