DNLA has to be one of my top favorite features in OS 10. Last night I was laying in bed with my fiance and she reminded me that we forgot to download Big Brother Canada. So I opened up my Bit Torrent Remote app and downloaded it to my laptop in my living room. Then with the wonders of DNLA I plugged my phone into my TV in my room and watched our show.

Who needs Apple TV anyway lol.

You could have downloaded it directly to the phone too!

I love doing that. Makes my pc's so unnecessary

I download to my device then "play "on to my tv! I love it!

My wife works for samsung and she was trying to figure out her samsung galaxy tab pro 10.1 and connect it to the Samsung tv, all I did was open the video, click play on, the TV showed up in the list, selected it, pressed allow on TV and we were watching the show before she could even find the all share app on her tablet lol. So my BlackBerry to samsung was easier than her samsung to samsung!

How did op play the video from his phone without a DLNA client?

Seems like you need two apps. At least one of the required two is minimum $5.

No free lunch on Z10 but fiance has all she can eat free buffet on Samsung.

BlackBerry Z10 has DLNA built in, you don't need a client. Z30 also has miracast built in again no need for a client.
