So I find myself in unfamiliar territory and for once lost in finding a solution that I hope someone can shed some light on.

Scenario is this: dropped my Z30 which caused the screen to separate from the body/board. Was and am able to connect it to my PC and do a backup. In fact, I can hear notifications going off just can't see them obviously, so I know the device still works. Have a new Z30 to switch to, however here's where my dilemma/question starts....since I am unable to actually disable BlackBerry Protect, how should I go about signing into my BlackBerry ID on the new device? I get the sense I'm stuck creating a new BBID but I'm also hoping there's a way.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated,

Can't you remove the device from protect.blackberry.com?
Mine doesn't even work so I can't confirm anything

Just sign in with your current BBID. You can go to the Protect website and remove it but there is no need unless you are going to sell or give it to someone who is going to fix it.

In essence pretend it was stolen and you have a backup. Activate the new device, restore the backup and carry on.
