    Hello guys,

I don't know if this is normal, but today while searching for a contact name under text messages in the hub, the results of the search were very all text massages. Text messages that I have deleted in the past are still popping up.

Is there a fix for this?

(oldest text message in the hub)

Deleted text messages still appear when search-img_20140308_124849_edit.png

I hadn't noticed that before. I just checked, and yes, deleted text messages are showing for me as well. That's on both my Z10 and Z30. Not sure if it's a bug, or intended behaviour. ???

I just checked this as well... Not good. Some things delete and other things don't. This is quite the security issue

This happens on iPhone as well...my buddy's wife was looking to send a text from his phone when she found a rather 'flirty' conversation he deleted. Lucky she didn't gut him.

This is a major security issue. Maybe someone should tweet someone who is in a high position @ blackberry and inform them of this major bug.

Whos "you guys" lol. Don't paint everyone on crackberry with the same brush. Many of us are realistic, although some of the true "out of touch fanbois" around here shout the loudest.

In the past before we had the option to delete emails from hub and/or servor I've noticed some abnormalities with specific chains of emails that I thought were deleted. That issue is now gone. Text messages that were deleted stays deleted. Searched from hub, from within the text app, nothing, nada..all gone. So as suggested above, you guys with this problem needs to update OS maybe.

This isn't an OS-update issue. I have got the latest OS update and I have this problem. But I think I may have found a solution to it.

It's not ideal and is quite hard work, but it does seem to do the trick.

By searching for "477" (a three-digit code that appears near the start of all UK mobile phone numbers - you'll need to put in a different search term if you are not in the UK), hundreds of remnants of old text messages appear. There is just ONE way to delete them, I've found.

Select each one and hit delete, and it works. But it doesn't work if you select mutiple text messages at the same time. And it also doesn't work if you go into a text message and delete it from there.

It has to be done on a one-by-one basis, and only from the list of messages.

Even then, the texts don't disappear from the list straight away, but when you do a new search they will have disappeared.

I've no idea why this is the case, but it works.

Yes. Deleted contacts and all their associated information re-appears if they ever text or call you again.

Let's talk about BlackBerry security. 1. Can't block calls. 2. Can't delete information. 3. Makes accidental calls all the time.

How is this OS better than 7.1? Maybe in 5 years if they haven't fired all the programmers it will be somewhat secure and reliable.

And people wonder why they made Blackphone.

Funny, I don't have that problem. When I delete contacts and I receive a message or a call from them they show up as unknown and only display the number text or call came from.
