I find sometimes when I get a new email and it shows on my lock screen that multiple old deleted emails show as well. When I click on them to open it takes me to my new email instead. Why is this? Aren't they deleted from my device or are they sitting in a deleted email folder that I don't know about?

You must be syncing your Deleted folder. In your email account in the Hub, tap on the account name, and your folders will show up. Most likely, you will see the round arrow sync symbol on the Deleted folder. Select it to un-sync.

Which email account? Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook?

Known bug that if you delete from the hub (but not the server) without opening it first, it seems to remain on the lock screen. At least that's my issue and has been addressed by others having the same bug.

Making them read before deleting fixes it if this is your issue.

Adding to what battleax78 mentioned:
I had a similar issue and I discovered that it was because I was erasing the emails without reading them. In this way they get transferred to the Deleted folder and still accessible to the OS.

Ahhhh this makes sense. From what I remember the ones showing were ones I doubt I opened..... mystery solved! thanks for your reply!
