Quick delete through hub would probably be your best choice

Yeah long press in Hub then Delete or End Chat while in text thread are the only ways I know of.

No, that's too long. Press quick select button in hub at top right corner then start tapping grabage cans...delete as much as your heart desires!

Not sure what this means. Hub Instant Actions only give options for email action 1 and email action 2.

In the hub press the three lines icon bottom left select text messages. Press and hold on the date, then select delete prior. Simples.

And if he only wants to delete specific text messages? That only works great for mass deletion. The whole reason the new quick delete option was introduced was exactly for what the op is asking. Fast, efficient way to delete multiple items

Just try selecting Text Messages in hub then tap the 3 dots in lower right corner, select more, select the SMS you want to delete, tap the 3 dots again on lower right corner and tap delete.

You have to set both Hub Instant Actions in the HUB settings. But you will delete all the thread of SMS.

If you want to delete only one of them, just display them, long press the culprit SMS, keep your finger on the screen and slide it to the Delete icon that appears at the bottom right.

You're going to have to excuse most of us, because normally the Hub Instant Actions setting is for email only.

    As such:

So the question now is, does your Hub Instant Actions setting have additional setting that include SMS?

I see what you mean now, I set the first action to flag to test and the trash can does come up for text threads now; but I have to say that this is neither intuitive nor a proper implementation. The settings clearly state Email instant actions; so why would setting Email actions affect text instant actions?

I think BlackBerry should really change it so that Email instant actions and text instant actions have separate settings. I neither flag nor file emails on my BlackBerry but would love to have the delete triage working on texts; and as it is set up right now, this isn't possible. I'll have to set the first Email instant action to either flag or file even though I do not want to just to get text delete triage to work, or forgo text delete triage and keep the first Email instant action set to none.
