Unlike android, I couldn't set default applications for BlackBerry 10 phones.

I can only select default browser but nothing else

For example, I wanted to open youtube videos in fasttube but I can't set fasttube as YouTube default app.

How can I do that? Why is such limitation!?

It is just done differently. Press and hold the link you want to open, click 'Open in', then select your default for that kind of link.

Be advised, BB10 recognizes all link types differently (ie- http, https, mobile sites, etc), so you have to allocate your new default to all types separately.

That's a missing feature of the FastTube app, not of BB10. Supertube does have that feature (took this screenshot for you to prove it):

The Facebook app is deprecated so no wonder it isn't showing up in the default applications selector.

What exactly are you trying to open in the Twitter app? If you give me an example, I can see if I can reproduce your issue.

I could see twitter notifications in my email, which will be only opened in selected browser upon clicking on them..I want to open those links in twitter official or 3rd party app

Why don't you just enable Twitter notifications in the Accounts settings? That way the Twitter app will give you notifications. You can instantly reply or retweet from there or open the tweet or a person's profile in the Twitter app. It also gives notifications if someone favorites or retweets one of your tweets.

Aside from that, you do seem to be missing something as I can select to open in the Twitter app (see attached screenshot).

I can select Twittly as a default, also. It must just be a missing feature in Blaq.

The developer of the app needs to support the functionality for it to show up in the list,

Like I said: Fasttube doesn't support this feature, SuperTube does and is an awesome app btw. Facebook old version is deprecated so it doesn't support this feature anymore either. Not sure about LinkedIn but it's about to be deprecated as well 'cause Microsoft is going to integrate it into its web services.

A lot of apps do support it as you can partly see in my screenshot. Install SuperTube if you want YouTube link support, trust me, it's a suberb app, you can do 99% of all YouTube things (including wireless casting to a smart TV!) and still gets updates
